NG Hau Yee, Poly was born in Hong Kong. She graduated with distinction from the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts where she studied composition with Law Wing Fai and she earned a Professional Diploma in Electronic Music with Clarence Mak. Miss Ng awarded the Lee Hysan Foundation Fellowship from the Asian Cultural Council in 1995 and The Boston Conservatory Music Division Scholarship in 1996 where she was awarded a Master Degree majoring in composition studying with Dr. John Clement Adams at The Boston Conservatory.
She won the composition scholarship given by the Composers’ and Authors’ Society of Hong Kong (CASH) in 1993. She was also the prize winner of the New Generation Young Composers’ Award in 1992 and 1993. Besides that, she was also won the first prize in The Asian Composers’ League(ACL) Young Composers’ Award in 1993 in Korea. Miss Ng is now teaching composition at the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts. She is the member of the LSCD Art Form Panel (Community) in 2010-2012 and also the audition member for the Open Stage Pilot Scheme in 2012.
出生於香港的伍巧怡畢業於香港演藝學院深造文憑課程,主修作曲,師從羅永暉先生。又於翌年完成專業文憑課程,隨麥偉鑄先生習電子音樂課程。伍是一九九二及一九九三年【新一代青年作曲家】獎得主,又於一九九三年獲得香港作曲家及作詞家協會之獎學金。更於同年代表香港前往韓國參加亞洲音樂節青年作曲家比賽,並獲得冠軍。她亦獲得亞洲文化協會所頒贈之獎學金及波士頓藝術學院獎學金於該校隨約翰、克雷孟特、亞當斯博士進修作曲,並於一九九七年五月取得碩士學位。
除作曲外,伍氏更熱衷於教學工作,現為香港演藝學院作曲系導師,學生於本地及海外多個國際作曲比賽中嬴取冠軍。於2010﹣2012年其間為康樂及文化事務署社區小組委員及「開放舞台」試驗計劃評審委員。
